Keith Felts, President
Keith is President of Advanced Machining, a position he has held since he co-founded the firm in 1985. In addition to having seasoned management and overall manufacturing skills, he is also a leading expert in electrical discharge machining, particularly sinker EDM. Before starting Advanced Machining, Keith worked as an application engineer for Agie Charmilles, a top manufacturer of EDM equipment based in Switzerland.
Patrick Reynolds, Operations Manager
Pat joined Advanced Machining in 2015 as a supervisor and quickly took on increasing responsibilities. He was promoted to Operations Manager in 2016. Pat’s machining background began with Framatome Connectors USA. He later worked at Vermont Aerospace and then moved to North Carolina, working as a Machinist and Production Manager — after a promotion — at Hi-Tech Machining. He then served as Production Manager at ECS Enterprises before joining Advanced. Pat has a degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
Paul Lutz, EDM and Maintenance Specialist
Paul began his career with Advanced Machining in 2014. He initially served as wire EDM operator, then gradually expanded his role to include CMM programmer/inspector. In his present role, he specializes in EDM and manages preventive maintenance and equipment repair. Paul gained great understanding of electrical discharge machining, particularly wire EDM, as a field service technician from 1998 to 2014 for GF Machining Solutions, a leading manufacturer of wire EDM equipment. Prior to that, he served as a petty officer third class in the US Navy.
Jeff Geoghan, Quality Manager
Jeff started at Advanced Machining in 2016 as a machinist, was promoted to Chief Inspector in 2018, and then named to his current position as Quality Manager in November 2019. He previously worked for ECS Enterprises as a machinist, quality manager, shop foreman, and lead for their 3D printing operations.
Amanda Przybyszewski, Office Manager
Amanda joined Advanced Machining in June 2020 after holding several different office management positions, each with increasing responsibility, with various organizations, including Aldi, FireFold and Gamewell Mechanical, over the past decade. She also previously worked at Kohl’s as an assistant store manager for more than seven years. Amanda graduated from UNC Charlotte with a finance degree.
Gary Holcomb, CEO
Gary is President & CEO of Compass Precision, LLC, Advanced’s parent company. He joined Compass in October 2019 in conjunction with its acquisitions of Quality Products & Machine, Tri-Tec Industries and Advanced Machining. He previously served in general management roles for several metal manufacturing firms, including Coining, Inc., a precision metal stamping firm that grew from $13 million to $65 million in revenue over seven years while Gary was CEO.
Earlier in his career, he was General Manager of Dynamet’s Forged Products Division, a Pittsburgh-based titanium CNC machining & forging shop where he learned many of the successful strategies being employed at Compass. Gary graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Paul Wilhelm, Vice President & CFO
Paul joined Compass Precision, LLC, Advanced Machining’s parent company, in February of 2020 as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Like Gary, he has a strong CNC machining industry background. Paul worked for Paragon Metals from 2016 through early 2020, most recently as the firms’ Chief Financial Officer. Paragon machines tight-tolerance, precision-engineered metal components for the automotive industry.
Previously, he served in various accounting and finance roles for several other Charlotte-area manufacturing companies including IntraPac International, a speciality packaging company manufacturing plastic, laminate, tin and aluminum products. Paul has a BS in Business Administration and an MS in accounting, both from Georgia Southern University.
Jim Miller, VP Sales
Jim became VP Sales at Compass Precision in March 2021, moving from Orange County in Southern California. He has spent 25 years in the machining and fabrication industry. In his previous role, Jim served in a similar capacity as VP of Sales for Crenshaw Die & Manufacturing.
On two different occassions in his career, Jim started his own manufacturing company. His second venture — CJ Precision Manufacturing — grew to $1 million in sales in its first three years. In 2015, he sold the company to Crenshaw, where he worked for nearly six years before joining Compass. Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.
